Adding guest/recipient contact information

In order to send invitations or ecards to recipients, you need to provide contact information to pingg. We respect users' privacy and will not use contact information indiscriminately, click here to see our privacy policy.

For an ecard, each recipient is treated as one person. However, for an event, each guest is treated as a party. So when creating an event you get the option to choose the number of people in a guest's party. At a minimum, we require at least one contact method (email address, mobile phone number, physical address) for any ecard or event invite recipient. You can also provide us with complete address and contact information which will enable you to easily send printed ecards/invites or SMS (text) messages to recipients. You can enter this contact information manually for each recipient, or use our tools to easily import it.

Adding guests individually for an event

In the "guest list" tab, you can manually enter contact information. If you select a party greater than one for a guest you will be given the option to specify names for members of that party. For instance, if you entered a Name of Smith Family for a guest and selected 3 as the Number in Party then you will be given the option to specify the names of the three individuals in the Smith family to whom the one invitation will be sent. The maximum number of guests allowed in a party is eight. Please note that if you select to send printed invites to that guest, the invite will be addressed to Smith Family.

By clicking on the "edit" icon, you can provide a mailing address (for sending printed invites) and mobile phone number (for sending SMS/text messages) for each guest.

Adding recipients individually for an ecard

In the "list" tab, you can manually enter contact information. By clicking on the "edit" icon, you can provide a mailing address (for sending printed ecards) and mobile phone number (for sending SMS/text messages) for each recipient.

Importing guest/recipient contact information

There are several different ways to import contact information.

From a previous event or ecard
You can import guests/recipients from previous events/ecards by selecting the appropriate option from the "Add guests from a list" section under the "guest list" tab or from the "Add recipients from a list" section under the "lists" tab. Click the event name / ecard title to view the guest/recipient list of your previous invite/ecard and to select which guests/recipients to import.

From a list of email addresses
You can copy and paste a simple list of email addresses by selecting the appropriate option from the "Add guests from a list" section under the "guest list" tab of your event creation page or from the "Add recipients from a list" section under the "list" tab of your ecard creation page.

From an online service (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL Mail, Plaxo or Evite)
You can easily import all your existing contacts from these online services. Simply select the option from the "Add guests from a list" section under the "guest list" tab of your event creation page or from the "Add recipients from a list" section under the "list" tab of your ecard creation page.

From a file (.vcard, .csv)
If you can create a .vcard or .csv file from your contact management program or address book, you can easily upload this data to pingg by selecting the appropriate option from the "Add guests from a list" section under the "guest list" tab or from the "Add recipients from a list" section under the "lists" tab. If you are using a .csv file, you should download our .csv template and format your data to match its categories/columns.

From "List manager"
If you have used pingg previously, you can re-use the contact information you have already provided to us. Simply click on the "lists" tab on the top right tabbed bar. This interface will let you import contact information from old events/ecards to a new event/ecard using a simple drag and drop method.
