Using Twitter

Posting to Twitter
If you have a Twitter account, you can easily post (or "Tweet") a message and a link to your Twitter account. This message will appear as a "Tweet" with a link. Friends/followers who click on this link will be asked to register for your event with pingg (they will need to provide their email address as a minimum) before they can RSVP (for an event) or use other pingg features (leave messages, contribute to a fund, etc.).

To share your event or ecard on Twitter, check the "Post to Twitter" option under your "guest list" or "recipient list" tab. For invites that have already been sent, you will find the option under the "communications" tab.

Adding Tweets to event Stream
To make your event stream more interactive you can search for terms on Twitter where all tweets related to your search terms will be added to your event stream.

You can search for tweets to add in the same way you would search for tweets on Twitter. For example, enter a single search term, e.g. martini, or combine terms to filter your search, e.g. gin martini (returns tweets with both); "gin martini" (returns exact phrase); gin or martini (returns either or both). For more on Twitter search operators, please visit the [|Twitter Search Operators page].

You may specify your search term(s) in the 'event web page' or 'web page' tab of your event/ecard creation page. If you've already sent your invite you can still specify search terms by specifying them in the text field in the 'event report' or 'report' tab. Just enter your search term(s) and click the <update> button to add related tweets to your event stream.

Please note that you can elect to remove tweets from your event stream by removing the search term in the 'event report' tab and then clicking the <update> button.
