Using Facebook and Twitter

Sharing Through Facebook

After you have sent your invitation or ecard, you can post it directly to your Timeline. Please note: you cannot post to Facebook before your invitation or ecard has been sent.

Post to Timeline
If you choose to post the invitation or ecard to your Facebook Timeline, your design and a link to your invitation or ecard event web page, along with any comments you enter on posting, will show up on your Facebook Timeline. It will also show up on your friends' news feeds if they allow it. Friends who visit the invitation/ecard event web page, using the link from Facebook, will need to provide at least an email address to RSVP (for an invitation).

Please make sure that you are sharing the link correctly per the following directions.

Please note that you have to activate sharing for the event in order to allow guests to RSVP (if it's an invitation) using the general link and to give guests/recipients access to all added details and options.

To activate sharing:

  1. Log into your account, click the "account" tab and click "dashboard"
  2. Click the event in your dashboard
  3. Click the "options" tab of an unsent event (you automatically land on this page when creating a new invitation or ecard) or the "edit options" button of a sent event
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page, select "allow guests/recipients to share the invite/ecard" and save your changes until you reach the "success!" page

Please then be sure to share the correct link with your guests.

To retrieve the correct event web page URL:

  1. Log into your account, click the "account" tab and click "dashboard"
  2. Click the event in your dashboard
  3. Click the link that says "click here for help" beneath the RSVP/recipient list
  4. If your or another name appears at the top left hand side of the event web page, please click "not you?" before copying the link. Copy the URL and paste it into a personal message (or wherever you are sharing it)

Facebook Connect/Disconnect

To connect your account with your Facebook account:

  1. Click the "Sign in" link on the homepage
  2. Click the "Connect with Facebook" button and follow the steps to connect your accounts

To disconnect your Facebook account from your account:

  1. Log into your Facebook account
  2. Click the arrow button located on the upper right-hand side of the page
  3. Click "Settings"
  4. Click "Apps" on the navigation bar
  5. Click the "X" that appears when you hover over the application; you will be prompted to confirm you want to remove the application from your list of apps
  6. Click the "Remove" button

Posting to Twitter

If you have a Twitter account, you can easily post (or "Tweet") a message and a link to your invitation or ecard. This message will appear as a "Tweet" with a link. Friends/followers who click this link will be asked to register for your event if it's an invitation. (they will need to provide their email address as a minimum) before they can RSVP (for an event) or use other added features (leave messages, contribute to a fund, etc.). Please be sure to share the link as noted above.

Adding Tweets to News & Comments Stream
To make your news & comments stream more interactive, you can search for terms on Twitter where all tweets related to your search terms will be added to your stream.

You can search for tweets to add in the same way you would search for tweets on Twitter. For example, enter a single search term, e.g. martini, or combine terms to filter your search, e.g. gin martini (returns tweets with both), "gin martini" (returns exact phrase), gin or martini (returns either or both).

You can specify your search term(s) on the "Options" page of your invitation or ecard in the "RSVP &/privacy settings" section.

Please note that you can select to remove tweets from your news & comments stream by removing the search term(s) on the "Options" page.
